Diana Carmichael Artworks recognizes and celebrates the splendor and richness of African adornment with the introduction of their exclusive Designer Jewellery collections.

 

With this completely new collection, Diana has returned to her original passion: jewellery design. Drawing from her extensive knowledge of jewellery design and manufacture, she has reinterpreted design elements from her tableware pieces and incorporated them into exquisite jewellery pieces. The combination of both traditional African and Western elements in her jewellery designs reveals a style unique to the brand.

 

Diana has been greatly influenced by the forms and textures of this extraordinary continent, where she captures the elusive "spirit" of Africa in her designs. This comes from "having lived in Africa all my life and experiencing daily the natural beauty of the African sub-continent and its people." “There is a richness about life and art in Africa which I am communicating to people throughout the world in my designs”.

 

Each piece is hand-molded using lead-free pewter and the real work occurs in the finishing of the components. The five stages of finishing are all done by hand using traditional methods. Such meticulous craftsmanship requires a high degree of skill and the finest attention to detail. The stamp of our company’s initials is the assurance of an original piece and of workmanship excellence.

 

The company embraces Diana’s original vision and continues to create stable employment for many previously disadvantaged people, both South Africans and people from other neighboring African countries.   As part of the company’s social responsibility, training and work is provided to various community projects so their members are able to support their families and extended members.
